SOUTHWICK: A Massachusetts girl who inadvertently tossed a $1 million lottery ticket finally collected her winnings because of the generosity and kindness of the proprietors of the shop where she purchased it. Lea Rose Fiega purchased the 30 Diamond Millions scratch-off ticket at March in the Lucky Stop convenience shop in Southwick close were she functions. “I had been in a rush, on lunch break, and also only scratched it real fast, and looked in it, and it did not seem as a winner, which I handed it to them to throw off,” she said Monday. I was in complete disbelief. I cried, I hugged them” Fiega said beating a near fatal bout with Covid-19 in January was similar to”winning the lottery,” therefore that she feels doubly blessed. “I mean, that really does this? They are amazing folks. I am beyond lucky,” she explained. The shop receives a $10,000 bonus in the state lottery commission for selling the winning ticket. Fiega stated that she gave the family another reward. She is saving the remainder for retirement.
