Hyderabad: A man who felt angry because of the fatigue of the donkey and stabbed to death two in Vikarabad was recently arrested and now faces the prospect of a five-year prison term.
Other donkeys were also injured in a knife attack.
The donkey was left near the Krishna field by several traveling shepherds from the Narayanpet district.
“We have ordered a case against the defendant and produced it in court,” said Kulkacherla Sub-Inspector of Vittal Reddy to Toi.
The defendant Krishna was ordered under the IPC part of 429 which brought a sentence of up to five years in prison to kill or damage the animal.
Cases have also been submitted under prevention of cruelty towards animal laws.
The migrant shepherds from the village of Renipatla at Maddur Mandal in Narayanpet, who moved with several hundred of their sheep, had taken them to Cheruvumundili Thanda in the Vicarabad district to graze.
