Chennai / Mumbai: Shailesh Jejurikar has become the first Indian designated as a global COO of MNC Procter & Gamble consumer products (P & G).
The 54-year-old Jejurikar who was born in Mumbai was a public school Hyderabad alumni and was taken into account between other famous global CEOs – Satya Nadella from Microsoft.
Jejurikar is not the only occupant corner room in his family.
Brother Brother Rajesh is the executive director of Mahindra & Mahindra and also has a background at FMCG.
“It’s a matter of pride for all of us to see Indians rise to the top global stairs,” said Rajesh Jejurikar.
Shailesh Jejurikar is one of the handful of global business leaders who are born in India without a degree abroad.
He did an MBA from IIM-Lucknow in 1989, as soon as he joined India P & G as the Assistant Brand Manager (Personal Healthcare).
The height of Jejurikar is part of the announcement of the Leadership Succession P & G & G to lead the Board of Directors.
Jejurikar, who took over because COO was effective October 1, will report to Moeller.
“As a coo, Jejurikar will have the responsibility of profit / loss for the company’s P & G company (Latin America, India, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe),” said the company.
“He will also lead information technology, global business services, sales, market operations, new business, purchase, manufacturing and distribution for the company.” P & G India is one of the largest exporters of the main talent for P & G globally, with around 350 Indian expatriates in the roles spread across the company.
