New Delhi: Concerns about dependence on house isolation and failure to impose micro detention zones have encouraged the center to advise that 46 districts in 10 countries reported above the 10% participant need to impose strict restrictions on the movement of people and gathering crowds.
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan led a high-level meeting on Saturday to review the Covid-19 situation in Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh and Manipur.
It followed the review by Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday.
With more than 80% of active cases in these countries in house isolation, the center is worried that in the absence of strict monitoring, people from such households can get along in the environment and the community, which results in a broader spread.
While some states – especially Kerala and North Eastern countries – have witnessed a surge in recent weeks, contrary to the national average, the center has insisted on micro detention measures in groups that see a large number of cases.
to be able to contain deployment in local geography.
“Some states have failed to do so (implementing micro level detention) despite repeated advisors of the Ministry of Health.
Now the problem is that neighboring countries can also be influenced because cases increase rapidly in certain countries,” said a senior official.
Bhushan underlines that every weakness at this stage will result in a setback in the situation in these districts.
“People in home isolation must be monitored effectively in such a way as to ensure that those who need hospitalization are transferred smoothly for clinical care on time,” the center told countries.
The state has also been advised to increase testing together with vaccination saturation in the district targeted for vulnerable groups.
Apart from 46 districts, 53 others have participants between 5% and 10%.
The ministry also asked the state not to forget about the district where the level of participation was less than 10% to protect them and their population by focusing on saturation of vaccination coverage.
This center has asked the state to conduct a district level sero-survey to be able to assess the local deployment in detail and apply the appropriate public health measures.
The government also reaffirms the need to vaccinate the elderly in priority because they are most vulnerable to infection.
In addition, all non-essential trips must be avoided, he said.
Meanwhile, the center also released 15% of the Covid emergency response package (phase 2) to the country.
