Pune: good supply, second dose sent Juln Jab Soaring

Pune: July sees the highest number of covid vaccination in Pune District, with more than 17.83 lakh shots recorded, the health department data has shown.
A large number of second-dose recipients – in large groups 18-44 – certainly helped increase the amount but they have qualified for the next photo shoot only in the last week of July.
Officials say vaccine availability is also a key factor.
Of the 5.43 doses of lakh given in May in the district, the count is more than threefold in July.
In June, the district had given a shot of almost 15.29 lakh.
The covid vaccine drive for those over the age of 60 and 45 (with fundamental conditions) starts in March.
The urge to close everyone more than 45 starts at 1.
All of the above 18 becomes eligible from May 1, but severe supply shortages have affected coverage in time, although most populations are open for vaccination.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Pune Circle said, “Compared to May, civilians get double the number of covishield doses in July and more than three lats more doses compared to June.
Regardless of availability on the site The Civic website, the dose purchased directly by a private hospital encourages vaccination in July.
“Deshmukh said nearly 700 civil sites in the district operated in July, compared with almost 400 in June.
“In most of July, the district has more than 600 vaccination sites.
The contribution from a private hospital to the trip in July is around 25%, which is far less in June because there are fewer personal sites at that time,” he said.
Other district officials said, “Daily Jab count crossed one lakh at least twice in July and passed 90,000 on a few days.
We also received several large vaccine batches in July.
The most recent 2.12 lakh dose, is the highest ever Accepted on one day.
So in good days, the average daily vaccination in July is 80,000, compared to 50,000 per day in June.
