Letter: On the first day they were employed as domestic assistance, two women stole a total cash and gold jewelry worth Rs 19.85 lakh from the home of a diamond entrepreneur.
Following the complaint submitted by Employers Kirit Vaghani, Police Umra ordered Rasila (55) and Sonu (30) who fell asleep with RS two lakh cash and 510 GM gold jewelry.
Vaghani, who lived in the Maple Leaf residency in Dumas Road, suspected that the women hypnotized his wife and he handed over valuables.
Theft was carried out in two and a half hours on the day the women were employed on July 21.
The next day, Vaghani family went to Bhavnagar and returned on July 27.
On July 28, his wife noticed that the jewelry was lost from the bedroom closet.
The police collected CCTV footage where women were seen coming and left the apartment.
However, the police claimed that it was unclear whether they carry stolen material while leaving.
The women came to the residential apartment to find work and sent to Vaghani’s house by security guards who knew that the family was looking for domestic help.
Vaghani told the police that his wife had a headache when the women came to work.
“His wife was in the bedroom and he did not know when these women stole valuables from the room.
He claimed that his wife might be hypnotized and he handed over valuables to women,” said a police officer at the Umra police station.
