Kolhapur: Traders in Kolhapur and Sangli Regency want permission for shops that are not important to stay open until 8pm.
The two districts are under 30 covid restrictions.
In accordance with norms, not important stores can only operate until 4pm on weekdays.
The two districts were damaged by the recent floods and even though Krishna and Panchaga water content had receded, several cities and villages had areas that were still flooded.
Lalit Gandhi, the president of the Western Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, said, “We have written to the Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray, looking for relaxation in Covid restrictions in the district affected by the flood.
The shops are closed during the flood and there is no business..
However, even though the water has been Receding, traders are involved in cleaning and restoring their shops.
If shops are allowed to open until 8pm, traders will be able to make money up to the government’s financial support coming.
“Thackeray has visited Harbhat Road in Sangli City and Shahupuri Kolhapur City – good big trade place.
He said that he had written to the center to ask the insurance company to complete the claims of damage caused by material in the store as soon as possible and asked the bank to provide loans at cheaper prices.
CM also ensure that the state government will provide financial support to traders.
“Every time financial support remains much lower than actual damage.
Traders entered the demonic debt cycle.
Covid restrictions have achieved their savings and now no one has the capital to recover,” Gandhi added.
