Letter: The first psychotropic manufacturing unit in Gujarat was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Vapi on Wednesday.
Sleuth NCB understands Prakash Patel, a chemist used to produce Mephedrone (MD), party drugs, along with other men named Sonu Ramniwas, who usually sell it.
According to NCB officials, they have received information that drug syndicates operate in VAPI.
Based on this information, the NCB official team began to monitor in the Valsad district a few days ago.
“We trace the defendants and identified the manufacturing plant factory.
After we received confirmation, we stormed a residential place when delivery of medication was ongoing,” said SK Mishra, director of Zonal Zonal Unit Ahmedabad NCB.
NCB sources say that this is the first time a damaged manufacturing unit in Gujarat.
Patel came to give 4.5 kg MD to Ramnivas at his residence when NCB officials swooped them.
During the initial question, Patel told the police that he was a chemist with the profession and used his knowledge to produce MD.
However, NCB did not know about the ownership of the factory where Patel made contraband goods.
Officials say that more details will be revealed once they get the custody of the duo from the court.
“Since when they are manufacturing and who else involved in the racket will be extracted during further investigation,” Mishra added.
Allegedly that the duo used to sell MD in Gujarat and in Mumbai too.
“In the past seizures carried out by all of us from the operator or vendors,” said the source.
After the arrest of the duo, the NCB invaded the place owned by the defendant and won the cash 85 lakh.
“On one property.
We found Rs 60 lakh while in the others, we confiscated RS 20 lakh cash.
All cash is not counted, and we suspect that it is the result of the sale of drugs,” Mishra said.
