Thiruvananthapuram: The debate over the administrative report for 2019-20 and the annual financial statements for 2020-21, presented at the Corporate Council here on Wednesday, turning to fiery political exchanges between BJP and LDF council members.
BJP pelted a volley on the ruling council for clarification.
The Opposition Board members said the actual number of vehicles owned by City Corporation in the administrative report on variance on vehicle assets received through RTI.
“Mismatch has strengthened our charges that officials do not use corporate vehicles and recruit private vehicles to cheat money as part of waste management after attukal Pongala,” said Anil Kumar BJP.
He also said even the data presented by the Chairman of the Committee Standing Dr.
Anil’s work showed differences with what was stated in the Administrative Report showing that the vehicle was lost.
“According to data recently presented on the board, there are 225 vehicles owned by the corporation.
However, the Administrative Report shows only 137 vehicles.
No one proves that the corporation has bought 88 vehicles between 2019 and 2021.
In accordance with RTI data, there are 41 heavy vehicles and two mini trucks, but administrative reports show 51 vehicles, this means eight vehicles are lost.
There are similar mismatches about jeeps, road rollers, sky lifts and earth drivers, “he said.
That word while the corporation maintains it does not have a road roller; RTI data shows the corporation has a road roller.
UDF Board Member said three member committees arranged to see the problem was a joke.
“I am a member of the committee and I came to find out only from the media.
I have never been told about the committee’s work model,” said UDF Padmakumar.
Meanwhile, Mayor Arya Rajendran said the search committee would be formed to see the problem of the lost vehicle.
“If the committee reports that the vehicle is lost, we will submit a case,” he said.
Another BJP member, P Ashok Kumar accused that the company’s annual financial statements were ridden by errors.
There are differences in demand, inch from various fiscals related to taxes and license fees.
“Such reports will not be forwarded to the government, it’s embarrassing,” he said.
