Thiruvananthapuram: The state government on Wednesday announced a new Covid-19 management strategy by revising benchmarks to enforce locking limits.
This has allowed all business companies to function in days except Sundays.
Making a statement in assembly under 300 rule, Health Minister Veena George said the government would then consider how many people per 1,000 were infected to impose restrictions.
As reported by TII yesterday, restrictions will be based on the ratio of the population of the weekly infection (IPR) instead of the Positivity Test (TPR) test.
He said three times Lockdown would be applied in the area with more than 10 infected residents in a week while it would be six days elsewhere.
The week will be a total locking day but restrictions will not be charged on August 15 and 22 considering the independence day and Onam.
Shops can function from 7am to 9:00 p.m.
and it will be the responsibility of the shop owner to ensure that no crowding.
It will also be desirable that those who visit shops and commercial companies are vaccinated, infected (have experienced antibodies) or have a RPCR-negative certificate within 72 hours.
The minister says a maximum of 40 people can visit places of worship with a large built-up area while the maximum of 20 people are permitted at events such as marriage and death.
The government will take steps to ensure that there is no crowding at the vaccination center, providing a vaccine to all those over the age of 60 in the specified time and patient in bed.
The government will also encourage and facilitate vaccine administration through private hospitals, he said.
Veena said the opportunity for the level of infection would remain high compared to other countries since 56% of the state population had not been infected so far.
However, the state has managed to maintain a low mortality rate and ensure the availability of oxygen and ventilator facilities to covid patients.
The minister said Covid’s death rate was 0.5% in the state by opposing 1.34% at the national level.
The test per million was 7.93,391 as against 3.41,517 nationally.
The minister’s chairman has written to the search center of 60 doses of lakh vaccine this month because the country is able to manage one crore vaccine in a month, he added.
