Hyderabad: A man who laps stabbed a woman and then tied himself at his home in Bowenpally on Wednesday.
Both of them survived, with the women of the danger and man, who was seriously injured, said to be stable.
The woman, 22, who suffered two piercing injuries, worked as a salesperson at the supermarket near her house in Bapuji Nagar in Bowenpally.
The defendant, 25, who came from Jawaharnagar, was a chef but is currently unemployed.
The couple had established a relationship for about four years and the defendant was annoyed because the woman avervated it, police said.
“On Wednesday afternoon, the defendant came to the woman’s house.
The main door opened and she sat in a chair in the front room.
He accused him of avoiding it and then took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed him twice,” said Bowenpally Inspector K Ravi Kumar.
When he fainted on the floor screaming in pain, his mother who panicked rushed there and tried to help.
Meanwhile, the defendant stabbed himself in the stomach with the same knife and fainted at the door of them, police said.
Noticed by neighbors, Bowenpally police reached the place and shifted injured to a different hospital for treatment.
“The woman came out of danger.
The man’s injury was a little bad but the condition was also stable,” said the inspector.
The police registered the case of murder attempts under the 307 IPC section.
