New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday praised the hard work of the Indian men’s hockey team and Australian coach Graham Reid during a telephone conversation with Captain Manpreet Singh and support staff after victory of the team bronze medal at the Olympics.
Modi called Manpreet and congratulated him and the team for a 5-4 victory over Germany.
“Manpreet ji has a lot of congratulations.
You and the whole team doing a good job, the whole nation dances in the excitement for your achievement.
Your hard work pays dividends.
I hope all players to what they have achieved,” said Modi.

All countries are proud of you.” Then Modi spoke with the saying Reid, “Congratulations.
We have created history.” In the answer, Reid said, “Your words yesterday after the semifinals were very inspirational for us.
Thank you.” Modi finally told Reid, “Your hard work paid off.
I am very proud.” The Indian men’s hockey team won the Olympic medal for the first time in 41 years.
