NEW DELHI: About 12.24 lakh new members joined the ESIC-run social safety strategy in March, according to 11.77 lakh in the last month, official data on Tuesday revealed, providing a view on formal sector employment in the nation. The gross enrolments using ESIC throughout 2020-21 dipped almost 24 percent to 1.15 crore amid the outbreak, in contrast to 1.51 crore at 2019-20, according to the most recent data. Gross new enrolments using the Workers’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) have been 8.87 lakh at June 2020, 4.89 lakh in May along with 2.63 lakh in April, demonstrating the growth in enrolments after easing the lockdown, according to the data.
