New Delhi: The situation of flooding in West Bengal remains critical on Thursday even though there is less rainfall.
In Madhya Pradesh, twelve people died and seven were injured in various incidents related to rain in the Gwalior and Chambal division which was hit by flooding.
There were no new deaths reported from seven affected districts in Bengal where around three lakh people had shifted to the rescue center.
“The situation of the flood remains important.
We monitor it.
Adequate steps have been taken and we ensure that there is enough drinking water supply, dry food packages, and drugs,” said an official.
More than 4 hectares of agricultural land in seven of these districts are under water now.
Heavy rain and water disposal of the dam in the last few days has flooded most of the Paschim and Paschim Bardhaman, Paschim Medinipur, Hooghly, Howrat, Pargana and South Birbhum District.
On Thursday, 24,000 Air Cusec was released from the Maiton Dam from Damodar Valley Corporation and was in the normal range, a DVC official said.
Meanwhile the IMD honed a fresh heavy rain for 23 Madhya Pradesh District.
The rainfall in the Gwalior and Chambal Division in North MP has now subsided, rescue operations have ended and the aid operation has begun, officials said.
The area was pounded by rain since Sunday.
“Twelteen deaths related to rain have been reported until yesterday.
There are no deaths reported today,” said Commissioner of Division Ashish Saxena.
A total of 30,790 people were evacuated to safer places in the Gwalior and Chambal division and around 6,000 people living in 126 challenge camps three people were saved on Thursday with helicopters with aircraft helicopters dropping food packages and other emergency relief materials in the Sheopur and Datia District Down.
Heavy rains in the Rajgarh district, Shajapur, Malwa, Mandaur, Guna and Ashok Nagar have been issued.
Yellow Warning Forecast `Rain Heavy ‘Issued for Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Neemuch, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Dataia, Gwalior, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Hoshangabad, Dhar, Dewas, Narsinghpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari and Sagar.
