Tokyo: Indian Golfer Aditi Ashok resembles three under 67 in the third round to stay in second place and remain in a strong dispute for the country’s first Olympic medal on Friday.
Aditi was 12-below 201 after three rounds and was the only golfer in second place, three blows adrift of leaders of Nelly Kalta from the US which resembled two-below 69 in the second round.
Four Players – Lydia Ko New Zealand (66), Australia Hannah Green (67), Demark’s Kristine Pederson (70) and Mone Inami (68) – Sharing third place with a total of 10-below 203.
Aditi fired five birdies and two bogeys on that day.
He was three below after taking a shot on the fourth, sixth and seventh hole before Bogeys on the ninth and 11 pulled it back.
However, he made a mistake with Birdie on the 15th and 17th to look after himself in the hunt for a historic medal.
Other Indian golfers in the commotion, Diksha Dagar, remain at the bottom of the ranking board after one more than 72 which is erratic, the third consecutive Over-Par card this week.
