Jammu: Bakti Baku broke out between security forces and militants in the district of Rajouri Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, officials said.
“This is a group consisting of three to four terrorists, including foreigners,” Additional Director General of Police, (Adgp), Jammu Zone, said Mukesh Singh, added that “we felt that he had moved from Kashmir to this side.” Security forces tracked a group of militants in the district forest belt for the past month through digital supervision, he said.
“Today, we get input from Thanamandi and contacts established with terrorists, resulting in a meeting in the forest belt,” Singh said.
Operation is happening when the latest report comes from the area, officials said.
Sheema Police Supervisor of the Prophet Qasba, who oversaw the operation, confirmed that there was an exchange of fire.
