Coimbatore: Many to eliminate Karumbai residents, City Corporation has begun work to overcome the problem of waste water mixed with drinking water in the area.
The civil body official team examined the area on Friday and said the work had begun and the problem would be resolved in one or two days.
The work, they said, was being monitored by senior officials.

One of them residents, said they had faced this problem for the past six months and had submitted a petition at the South Zone corporate office several times, but did not succeed.
He said the job had begun only after the problem came to a higher authority notice.
He said the water supplied to the area had a foul odor, because it was increasingly mixed with wastewater.
“We used to let water flow for three hours to get good water.
Environmental level officials were used to do some work every time we filed a complaint, but this problem was never handled.” Jalaluddin urged officials to identify the root causes of problems and find a permanent solution.

“Waste pipes should develop a gap.
We have explored three places to identify leaks.
The work will be completed on Saturday.”
