ThiruvananThapuram: Aeronautics, Mechatronics, Cars and Branch Mechanical Engineering Register the lowest percentage pass in the latest BTECH engineering results announced by KTU earlier this week.
Detailed analysis of results shows that electronic & biomedical engineering and industrial engineering register the highest percentage pass in the results of BTECH engineering from Batch 2017 published by the university on Tuesday.
The percentage pass in the Aeronautics Engineering branch is the lowest with only 28% of students who clear the exam.
Other branches in the lower stairs were mechanronics with 31.36% pass and 33.55% of car engineering.
The only branch registered percentage of more than 70% is electronic & biomedical (78.13%), industry (76.19%) and food technology techniques (71.82%).
Statistics show that at least a dozen branches have a percentage of graduating below 50%, while 10 branches have registered above -50% pass.
The percentage of pass in one branch (production engineering) is 50%.
Some branches, including electronics & biomedical and industrial techniques that register the highest percentage pass, have less than 100 candidates registered for eighth semester examination.
The highest number of candidates registered for 8thsemester examination after obtaining mandatory credit in the lower semester comes from mechanical (7,217) and civil (6,948).
The percentage of graduating in both branches reached 37.2% and 49.38% respectively.
The lowest number of students registered for finalseemester examination comes from the metallurgical branch.
Only 19 candidates from branches can register for 8th semester checks, which are only nine students who clean it.
In terms of the academic performance index published by Varsity, the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, topped the list with a score of 7.21 on a scale of 10 points.
TKM College of Engineering, Model Engineering College, Muthhot Institute of Technology & Science is in second place, third and fourth.
In the results of the institution-wise, college engineering, trivandrum, topped the list with 82.49% pass.
Higher education has presented 674 candidates, where 556 cleans the exam.
The TKM College of Engineering presents 767 students, the highest number of candidates, where 567 has passed.
