New Delhi: Daily Vaccination has increased in August with an average of 51.45 lakh doses per day on Sunday 31 July – August 6, up 27% from 40.31 lakh doses a day ago (17-23 July) with high absorption in rural areas.
The average vaccination is around 48.25 lakh doses in the previous week 24-30 July.
The increase in daily vaccination is mainly driven by higher vaccination in rural areas which accounts for more than 60% everyday inoculation.
During July 31 – August 6, almost 65% of the 3.6 doses of crore vaccines were given to recipients in rural centers.
“Although there are initial worries in rural areas, absorption in these areas is commendable,” said an official.
Five MP countries, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have provided more than one dose of Crore Vaccine Covid-19 in the age group of 18-44 years.
Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 beneficiaries of the lakh in the first vaccine group.
Apart from the slowdown in the inventory of covaxin from Bharat Biotech’s new Bengaluru facilities, the overall vaccine supply has increased over the past few months.
The government has provided a visibility of 15 doses of crore to be supplied during August, while the possibility of supplying at least 20 crore doses in September.
The government has placed orders for 66 covid vaccine crore doses available between August and December.
These include 37.5 doses of crore covishield and 28.5 crore doses of covaxin.
In addition, the center has also made an advance setting with biological e to order 30 doses of crore from the Corbevax vaccine.
The government has supplied more than 52.37 crore vaccine doses so far and then 8.99,260 doses are in the pipe.
