City: Two nursing staff at Barakheda Village Health Center in Bundi saved their lives a pregnant woman and her baby by guiding her through shipping using light from candles and torches on Thursday.
Delivery is carried out at the village primary health center (PHC) which has no power due to heavy rain.
Both the mother and baby girl were healthy after the incident and sent home the same night.
The two nursing staff in charge had received a warning about pregnant women on Thursday night.
Second – a female health visitor and aid midwife – done under the ceiling leaked from the PHC workspace because it is impossible to refer to a better hospital because it rains and roads that are fluting.
The 22-year-old pregnant woman, Vinita Bairwa, has arrived at the PHC with her husband Sonu Kumar and mother-in-law in labor pain around 5 pm on Thursday when heavy rains and flooded the village, said a nurse staff for TOI on Sunday.
This is Vinita’s second pregnancy and she has a critical problem during the birth of the first child.
The staff, although at first was reluctant, decided to continue shipping because the employment pain was increasingly intensive.
Electricity supply is cut off due to rain and cellphone staff do not have costs.
So they turned the candle and asked for a husband for women to get a torch from the outside.
They called two local Asha workers also for help, said Meena Malav, who helped in labor.
“It was truly a great joy and gave us deep satisfaction to see babies and mothers in healthy health after giving birth.
We are very worried and scared but successfully handled,” Rajiya said.
“Nurse staff has done a good job and we will recommend their names for the award and state-level certificate,” said Bundi Cmo Dr.
Mahendra Tripathy.
