Apart from the slowdown in second dose vaccination in August, Bengal has been able to fully vaccinate more people than other major countries because it is encouraged to clean the second dose backlog in May and July.
The slowdown had been largely proven since July 19, when those who were given the first dose exceeded the number of second-dose recipients.
Until July 19, Bengal had given two more than the first dose.
These figures peaked on July 17 when the Lakh 2 people were given a second dose while 1.6 lakh people received their first dose.
It also coincides with the KMC clinic and the Mega centers that prioritize the second dose vaccination.
From July 11-17, three days, more than 2 lakh people were vaccinated with the second dose.
This second dose pattern was more than the first time in Bengal in Aprilland continued until mid-May when the second wave peaked.
From May 15, the first dose was given on a larger scale, which continued in June.
In the first three weeks of July, the country again prioritized the second dose to clean backlogs and upside down trends.
However, vaccination data on Co-Win’s dashboard shows a complete reversal of trends since July 19 last week, the country has tripled from 4 lakh people.
August 2 was the highest with 4.4 lakh – 3.5 lakh got the first dose, and 83,139 received the second.
This pattern was repeated on August 3 and August 5.
Trends since August – where more first doses were given than the second – reflecting the national trend.
