Coimbatore: Residents of Kottayampalayam Village near Annur held Jalan Roko on Monday to register their protests so as not to hold vaccination camps in their location.
Senior health staff from Kovilpalayam said the villagers appeared near the community area in the area after rumors have it that the vaccination camp would be done there that day.
When the villagers realized that the camp did not happen, they blocked Jalan Kovilpalayam near the Kottayampalayam bus holder, passing traffic until suddenly.
When alerted, Kovilpalayam’s health and police officers rushed to the place and held talks with anxious villagers, which were appetite and sent back to their homes with an appointment to arrange vaccination drives in the coming days.
The protesters are many MGNREGA workers.

Health staff said some anti-social elements have circulated a message about WhatsApp which states that a vaccination camp will be held in the village on Monday.
“It creates a total chaos.
We have asked the police to take appropriate actions against people who spread false messages to avoid such incidents in the future.” He said the vaccination camp was not held in rural areas that day.
Rajesi, one of the villagers, said he was waiting for more than a month to be investigated.
Villages that accommodate 3,000 strange people only saw two vaccination drives in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, the vaccination camp was carried out at the city limits exclusively for people waiting for their second dose.
Vaccination camps are held at 32 centers in all cities with 9,600 doses of Covaxin on Monday.
According to senior health officials, regular vaccination camps were detained in all districts to invest the maximum population.
“In the last 10 days, exclusive camps are organized three times to analyzen those who wait for their second dose.” To prevent crackding in vaccination camps and checking malpractices, camp details announced by district collectors every day at 8 am.
