Even though the party currently follows the 80-year ceiling norm for CC members, Pillai Confidant S closes Vijayan continues to function as a member of Politburo even though he has passed 80.
Party sources to TOI that CPM will not energize the organization at the senior leader costs certain which is the face of party and shoulder responsibilities that are only a few others suitable.
The Kolkota Plenum Party in 2015 has shown the need to increase the composition of age in the party forum, from top to bottom, and even suggest that at least 20% of its total membership must be under 31 years.
