Nagpur: Plantation Protection Work conducted by the Department of Social Forestry (SFD) in the Nagpur circle has passed because of all forest officials (RFOs), foresters, and forest guards have gone with mass lime.
Nagpur circle consists of Gadchiroli, Gondia, Wardha, Nagpur and Bhandara.
There may be more than 100 field staff in this division.
The source said all divisions had planted at least 8 lakh tillers of this rainy season.
Now there will be no staff to protect this plantation.
As reported by TOI on August 6, Director of Joint SFD Surendra Wadhai and RFOs were in assignment on charges of irregularities in pre-plantation operations (PPO) working in their span.
The Association of Rangers Forest Maharashtra (Fram) has submitted a memorandum to PCCF (HOFF) and SFD PCCF, Pune, about the mass leave decision from August 9, demanding the elimination of Wadhai.
Wadhai said, “I have not received the leave application.
In accordance with my knowledge, forestry and forest guards I have not broken down.” Section DFO said, “The strike will affect the payment of wages to Van Majoors, many of them have not been paid for the past four months.
From Crore RS12 towards wages, only RS3 Crore has been released until now.
“Forest Union leader Ajay Patil has confirmed that if there is no decision taken by the state government in this issue, the staff will begin the chain strike strike from August 18.
Meanwhile, Indrajeet Bandaaskar, Secretary of the State of Forest Guards Maharashtra Sanghatana, said, “Our Association members will not be part of the mass leave agitation.
Those who have gone off protests must wait for the committee’s report out.”
