New Delhi: More than RS 49,000 Crore in Foreign Funds received by more than 18,000 NGOs in the country between FY18 and FY20, UNI State Minister Nityanand Rai told Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
He said Rs 16,940.58 Crore was accepted by NGOs in 2017-18, RS 16,525.73 Crore received in 2018-19 and Rs 15,853.94 Crore in 2019-20.
Rai, in a written reply for the query, said that before the enactment of the Amendment Act of foreign contributions (regulations), 2020, an exclusive FCRA bank account could be opened at the scheduled bank branch.
Foreign Contributions (Regulation) The Amendment Act that every NGO FCRA must now be required to open the ‘FCRA account’ at the State of India, the main branch, New Delhi, for early money transfer / foreign contribution (FC) from foreign sources.
The Indian state bank has said that on July 31, 2021, a total of 18,377 designated FCRA accounts have been opened with their new Delhi main branch, Rai said.
