New Delhi: Twitter on Thursday locked the official handle of the Congress Party which stated that the handle violated the rules of the microblogging site.
The Congress rose to other Facebook social media platforms to inform about Twitter locking after party accounts.
“When our leaders are imprisoned, we are not afraid of why we are afraid of closing our Twitter account now.
We are Congress, this is a message from people, we will fight, we will continue to struggle.
If it’s a crime to raise our voices to get Justice for girls of rape victims, then we will commit this crime a hundred times.

Reacting to Moving Rohan Gupta, Head of Social Media from all Indian Congress Committee (AICC) said that social media giants have blocked 5,000 accounts of leaders and congressional workers.
“Congress said Twitter had blocked his account for violating the twitter rules that act under the pressure of the government.
It has blocked 5000 accounts from leaders & our workers throughout India.
They need to understand that we cannot be suppressed by Twitter or the government,” Rohan said.
On August 7, Twitter has blocked a Twitter account leader Rahul Gandhi which remains locked for more than five days now.

Rahul’s account was suspended after the government complained that he had violated the law by posting a picture of a family of a little girl who was raped and killed.
A new account also seems to have been suspended in the same complaint.
All users whose accounts have been suspended have joined the “Main Bhi Rahul” campaign, launched after Rahul met the girl.
AICC spokesman Pranav Jha said the responsibility for this “illegal action” on the Twitter account of the Congress leaders lay with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government.
He also blamed Twitter.
