New Delhi: The government has a target to connect all Indians through the Internet in 2025 mostly through broadband from Bharat Net, simplifying cyber-law to make it easier to do business and focus on high technology such as quantum computing for electronics and it Rajeev Chandrasekhar said Thursday.
Overcoming the plenary of “digital- encouragement for the Indian economy” on the second day of the Confederation of Indian Industrial Annual Meeting (CII) 2021, Chandrashekhar stated that digital would play a big role in the Indian economy in the next 25 years.
“Prime Minister has invested in the power of technology to transform the government by bridging the gap between the government and citizens and various departments and Panchayats to overcome the limitations of conventional mode working in silos,” he said.
The minister outlines the role of technology that has sproted the financial sector in recent years by fully changing them and the big impact of the integrated payment interface (UPI).
Districts that have never made contact with the government in a few months can get financial transfers directly on the account during a pandemic, he said.
Chandrasekhar imagines 500-600 companies have more than RS 5,000 Turnover Crore in the next three to five years from only 25 companies like today.
He urged the private sector to encourage innovation.
“Unlike many countries, data privacy is fundamental rights in India.
The government carries data protection bills, namely with the permanent parliamentary committee now,” told the minister.
