The cable mesh is still a threat in Kolkata’s environment

Kolkata: In January 2018, a teenager from Kasaiipara Benimukan had died after the wheel of his bicycle was entangled in a cable thrown off on the road near the Park Circus Bridge.
On Wednesday, a 26-year-old young man from Ultangga met with the same fate after the bike in front of his motorcycle was trapped in a mesh cable near Baisakhi Island Salt Lake.

All Bengal cables & Broadband operators’ United Convenor Forum with Tapash Das said they worked in coordination with the Civic body to clean the scene.
“Usually, we dress cables and cable mesh deleted the next day.
If someone tells us on the cable that has not been removed, we will definitely act on it,” he said.
