Mumbai: Sudden death of two young doctors, aged 39 and 45 years, because a heart attack on Thursday has left the medical community shaken.
One of them suffered an attack while exercising in the gym, and the others were in the department of the hospital outpatient.
Dr.
Intiman Roy (45) has worked as a radiologist intervention at Kokilaben Hospital for more than a decade.
Dr.
Santosh Shetty, CEO of Kokilaben, said he fainted at the gym and rushed to the hospital, but could not be revived.
“It’s surprising for everyone.
He is an extraordinary doctor,” he said.
Colleagues remember as an integral person in the war against pediatric cancer.
Dr.
Vijay Ghijay Ghorpade (39) Navi Mumbai collapsed while signing an official paper, sitting in his office on Thursday night.
His friend, Dr.
Amol Argade, said he rushed to the victim but despite trying for almost two hours, he could not be saved.
“He is fit and has participated in the marathon,” he said.
Dr.
Ghorpade manages two hospitals in Seawoods and Ulwe and will be under work pressure as the last is the Covid Hospital.
“He has a burning sensation and a stomach problem a few weeks ago, but they were resolved.
His death was a big surprise,” he said.
