WASHINGTON: Taliban will be rejected access to Afghan reserves held on a US account, a US government official tells AFP on Monday.
When US forces evacuated the Afghan capital after the Taliban Swift takeover, the official said, “the central bank assets owned by the Afghan government in the United States will not be available for the Taliban.” The central bank’s gross reserve reached $ 9.4 billion at the end of April, according to the International Monetary Fund.
