Singapore: The head of the Afghan central bank has escaped Kabul, questioning the loyalty of Afghan security forces and blaming the President of Ashraf Ghani and his inexperienced advisor to fall rapidly and chaotic in the Taliban.
On Twitter Utas on Monday detailed how he worked at the bank until a militant was at the city gate, Ahmady’s acting governor also said that the US dollar supply was reduced and described to run away from military flights.
“On Sunday I started working.
Reports throughout the morning are increasingly worrying.
I left the bank and left the deputy responsible.
Feeling terrible to leave the staff,” he said.
“It doesn’t have to end like this.
I’m disgusted with a lack of planning by Afghan leadership.
Seeing at the airport they go without telling others.” Ghani escaped from Afghanistan on Sunday when the Taliban guerrillas entered Kabul almost without limits.
Their arrival, just a week after they arrested the provincial capital distant, zaraj, disorientation, said Ahmady, 43.
He was appointed as Afghan central bank acting governor only more than a year ago, after previously working in the US treasury, the World Bank and in private equity , according to a brief biography posted on the government website.
“It seems difficult to believe, but there is still suspicion about why (Afghan National Security Forces) leaving a post so fast,” Ahmady said, referring to claims by several pro-government militia leaders for military capitulation in North Afghanistan was the result.
From conspiracy.
“There is something left unexplained.” Ahmady did not respond to Reuters’s emails and messages who were looking for comments.
His statement was posted from a verified Twitter account.
World Bank sources that have conducted correspondence with Ahmady said the account was original.
When the Taliban advanced, Ahmady said the Afghan currency market panicked, especially after the central bank on Friday was told it would not receive dollars again, push the price of Afghanistan, Afghani, lower.
“I have a meeting on Saturday to convince banks and money exchangers to calm them down.
I don’t believe it is one day before Kabul falls,” Ahmady said.
He said the currency went down as far as 100 to the dollar, fell around 23%, before stabilizing at 86.
Ahmady said he boarded a military plane in the midst of chaos on the commercial foundation was flooded with passengers.
It was not clear which military plane he lived and he did not mention his goal.
“There was a hurry.
Some shots were fired.
Somehow, my close colleagues pushed me,” he said.
The lack of planning and failure of Ghani to recognize the lack of his advisor is the destruction of the government, Ahmady said.
“After the president’s departure was announced, I knew in a few minutes chaos would follow.
I can’t forgive it because it created it without a transition plan.” He himself has great ideas but poor execution.
If I contribute to it, I took my part of a mistake.
