Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 4,408 cases of new Coronavirus and 116 new deaths on Tuesday, while 5,424 patients recovered from infection, officials of the State Health Department.

Maharashtra now has 61,306 active cases.
The state has 3,53,807 people in home quarantine and other 2,233 in institutional quarantine, according to officials.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra was at 96.87 percent, while the mortality rate was 2.11 percent, he said.
The cumulative number of Coronavirus tests in the country rose to 5.12.91,383, where 1,79,488 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, the official said.

Among the eight areas of Maharashtra, the Pune region reported the highest new case at 2,050 followed by 982 infections from the Kolhapur region.
Among other regions, Nashik reported 613 new cases, Mumbai 465, Latur 210, Aurangabad 32, Akola 19 and Nagpur Nagpur Region, he said.
According to officials, among 116 deaths, the highest in 52 reported from the Pune region was attended by 51 deaths from the Kolhapur region.
