Chennai: Pratip Software Engineer Mambalam Barat and family members have spent two nights without sleep in pepper, their African gray birds are missing on Sundays.
Pratip said the bird managed to unlock the cage itself, before going to the sky.
One year old bird responded to his name given, said Pratip, added that his family would give a prize money to anyone who helped them track missing pets.
The owner also filed a complaint at the Mambalam police station.
Pepper is a pratip gift received around nine months ago.
Pratip and his wife take care of birds very carefully, with their dog serving as a playmate.
On Sunday, Pratip did not immediately realize that Pepper released himself from the cage.
The main door opened, allowing the bird to fly out.
“We consider our son.
Rarely see a dog and parrot playing together.
I think he must have lost his way or arrested by criminals,” Pratip said.
The engineer was posted about birds lost on social media and also installed posters within a 5 km radius around their house.
He said it was impossible for birds to fly away.
He also told the dealer in the area to remind him if someone approached them to sell Parrot.
