New Delhi: After breaking the value of 1 in the first week of August, the R number, which reflects how quickly the Coronavirus pandemic spreads, has been completed, according to researchers at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai.
“India R has fallen around 0.9,” Sitbara Sinha, who led the research, told PTI, quoted their data.
If it is lower than 1, it means the number of newly infected people is lower than the number of people infected in the previous period and the incidence of disease down.
R-value Kerala, which has the highest number of active cases in this country, is now below 1 after the seven-month gap, signifies relief to the authorities who have struggled to drop injection levels in the state.
Northeast countries seem to finally come out of the second wave, Sinha said.
R value between August 14-16, calculated by the researchers now stands at 0.89.
R value for Maharashtra, another state that has a high number of cases, which is 0.89, data shows.
However, Himachal Pradesh continued to have value R above 1, even though it was reduced in the last few days, while Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand still had R which was very close to 1, said Sinha.
Among the major cities, the lowest value-r Mumbai (0.70 from 10-13 August), followed by Delhi (0.85 from 31 July to 4), Bengaluru (0.94 from August 15-17) , Chennai (0.97 from August (0.97 from August) 15-17).
However, the R value remains high for Kolkata (1.08 from 11-15 August), Pune (1.05 from 10-14 August), reproduction or r refers to how many people are infected with infected people.
In other words, it tells how effective “virus spreads.
Smaller R shows this disease decreases.
Conversely, if R is greater than 1, the number of infected people increases in each round – technically, this is what is called the epidemic phase.
After the destructive second wave that saw hospitals and health infrastructure was overwhelmed by patients infected by SARS-COV2 Coronavirus, R value began to decline.
During the March-May period, thousands of people died of infected with the infected lakh.
In his bulletin on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health said India saw a one-day increase of 25,166 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest in 154 days, took the calculation to 3,22,50,679.
The national recovery rate was recorded at 97.51 percent, the highest since March 2020.
Less than 50,000 cases of everyday has been reported for 52 consecutive days.
From June 20 to July 7, the value-r reached 0.78.
However, slowly began to increase – it was 0.88 from July 3-22, 0.95 from 24-27 July, 0.96 from 27-31 July.
This violated the value of 1.03 for the first time after the second wave for August 6-9.
However, since it slowly began to decline.
The value is 0.92 from August 6-9, up to 0.99 between August 12-14.
But it slipped to 0.89 between August 14-17.
Earlier this month, the central government said 37 districts in nine states, including Kerala (11 districts) and Tamil Nadu (seven districts) still showed a trend in the average Covid-19 case in the previous two weeks even as a new infection everyday National continues to register a decline.
It is said that the value of R is more than 1 in five states – Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh which remains a concern.
