Pune: Pune Body Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has provided a green signal to pay an increase in the cost of a river pollution reduction project on Tuesday.
However, the request to call online tender has been rejected.
The committee has also approved the escalation of costs in July.
PMC has planned a project to curb pollution in the beginning and Mutha Rivers.
Money from the JICA International Funding Agency has been approved for this, official said.
According to PMC officials, the previous tender was canceled three years ago because of the accusations they quote the rate of increase.
Basic prices and material costs compared to the applicable rates in 2014.
Now, PMC has restructured tenders according to the current level.
Previously 11 tenders were issued for different jobs but they have now been combined.
This project will be worth RS 1236 Crore.
This includes operating and maintenance costs around RS 216 Crore and RS 1020 Crore Project Prices.
Previously the project fee around Rs 990 Crore.
Opposition parties have demanded that the civil body must pay for maintenance costs.
But BJP – who has a majority at PMC, rejects requests after voting.
Opposition leaders have also demanded to provide options to send tenders online.
But this request was rejected by the powerful party, by saying that offline tenders would be more appropriate to see the project scale.
