Panaji: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said on Tuesday that the state government would “positively consider” proposal for the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) to start physical classes for students.
Sawant said that there were no plans to start physical classes for higher school students and a higher secondary institute.
“Students above 18 have taken Covid vaccines, and the government may consider proposals to start universities,” he said.
On Monday, Dhe has asked the school principal to design a method to start the class in physical mode.
The new academic year 2021-22 starts on September 1 for general flow.
“Head of educational institutions under the scope of the DHE can make the right decisions to conduct classes in physical mode for the new academic year 2021-22 based on the reality of land and availability of infrastructure, after following the SOOC related to the Pandemic Covid-19,” Director of Higher Education Prasad Lolayark has told the round.
