Shahjahanpur: A 32-year-old woman received a serious burn injury after her husband poured water boiling at him because he did not give birth to a boy, police said here on Wednesday.
The pair has three daughters, the youngest born last year.
Sanju Satyapal’s husband has also suppressed him to bring Rs 50,000 from his parents, police supervisor (rustic) Sanjeev Bajpai, added that both of them were married in 2013.
Citing police complaints, Bajpai said satyapal used to harass his wife and did not give food.
“On August 13, Satypal poured boiling water in Sanju, after he was hospitalized.
This case was registered on Wednesday,” he said, adding that the complaint was submitted by Sanju’s father.
The defendant escaped, he said.
