Nairobi: Decisions of rich countries to launch a Covid-19 booster shot “threaten more breth-brighter promises for Africa,” African Director for the World Health Organization said Thursday, warned that “as some richer countries hoarding vaccines, they make equity jaunts Vaccines 19.

Moueti told reporters that he could not say with whatever accuracy whether US doses planned to be used for booster shots will come from planned shares for Africa, but “hopefully not.” He noted that “a very unfair situation” globally in the supply of vaccines and urged that his emphasis was placed on making progress in vaccinating people in Africa, whose country was far behind the world in access and coverage.
Moueti shows that rich countries are given more than 103 doses of vaccines per 100 people, while in Africa it is only six.
Earlier this week, Director General of WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, called it “unwallow” that some countries now offer booster shots “while so many people remain unprotected.”
