Chennai: Southern Railway has installed an exclusive warehouse to overhaul the LHB coach (Linke Hofmann Busch) at the Carriage and Wagon worked in a scurber in Chennai on Thursday.
Warehouse, assigned to the cost of Rs 30 Crore, has the capacity to carry out regular reshuffle of 16 LHB coaches at a time.
The average voter time will be 14 to 16 days for non-AC coach and 20 to 22 days for AC coach, said an official.
It has three bays to handle coaches, crane traveling electric overhead, four songs for coach movements, holes for teeth inspection and path approach.
Blasting machine stuffy centrifugal shots arranged at Rs 1.15 Crore to clean the bogie frame and its components to remove rust, scale factories and foreign objects during the overhaul.
The facility was assigned during inspection by the general manager of the South Railroad John Thomas.
