Nagpur: Now, the doctor who runs a small clinic and the department of the patient (OPDs) in various parts of the city must mention their qualifications and complete specialties on their names.
The Ministry of Health Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has received several complaints that many doctors only mention the MD / MS degree or mere specialties such as dentists and obstetricians, dermatologists, pediatricians on their boards and deliberately avoid mentioning their postgraduate degree.
According to his complaint, this happens because doctors who are not from modern drugs and ice hail from the Ayush School of Medicine want to create the impression that they are modern treatment experts.
Patients who are not too experienced with a medical degree pattern think that the doctor calls MD or MS on a signboard is a modern treatment practitioner.
However, in Maharashtra, MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) whether the postgraduate degree is available in the Ayurveda stream too.
MD can also be done in Homeopathy too.
“We received a complaint earlier this month in this case Accurate about doctor’s education qualifications, “read a letter signed by NMC Health Officer Dr.
Sanjay Chilkar.
According to him, this complaint was mainly about the clinic running at Mhalgi Nagar Chowk to Pipla on Jalan Hudkeshwar and Jalan Narsala and Dirhori.
“If incomplete education qualifications are found written in a private pharmacy council in the city, we will examine educational qualifications, private doctor certificates concerned and ensure that the right qualification is mentioned in the clinical council,” said Dr.
Chilkar.
In the case of signage that is misleading or confusing, the doctor concerned will be instructed to install a new signage that states the education of ional qualification correctly.
If the doctor concerned refrains from placing the right panel even after instructions, the NMC health department will consider further action.
Doctor Ayush Stream has welcomed this step and asked NMC to also take action against doctors who graduated from modern who passed the drug but wrote MD / MS without having a PG degree.
“This is the right step, but the NMC must also focus on doctors who have not registered their titles with their respective councils or they do not pass in the modern medicine from the official university,” Dr.
Manish Patil, President of Orange City Homeopaths Association (OCHA).
