Nagpur: Senior Journalist and the author of Jaideep Hardikar launched his second book ‘Ramrao – the story of the Indian Agricultural Crisis’ during the Vidarbha Literature Festival (VLF), on Saturday at the center of Chitnivis.
He has covered widely about the rural sector and the life of a farmer.
While modering the event, Sachin Jahagirdar said this topic was close to “everyone’s heart”.
Tanvir Mirza is a co-moderator.
Hardikar talked about why he chose the topic for the book.
“I always want to voice the farmer’s struggle.
I realized that someone had to talk and spread the awareness of this topic.
Writing for rural areas has become an adventure for me and I think consciousness will only fall in place if scattered,” he said.
When writing the book, Hardikar faced two big difficulties.
“The first is to swallow me with all topics that are very sensitive.
Second, careful analysis and implement everything with the right words,” he said.
Briefing his character Ramrao, Hardikar said, “He is a small farmer who has faced problems such as financial instability and has severe health problems.
This book revolves around his struggle and through the story of Ramrao, some true lives of other farmers will be reflected.” Ujwala Petkar, Which is a small farmer and has become a widow for the past 16 years, sharing his story about how difficult it is for female farmers to get a job.
“There was so much inequality when I went to buy several tools for farming.
I was charged an additional fee for agricultural equipment.
This has been part of my agricultural career,” he said.
Hardikar congratulations, Eshwar Garg, a guest speaker, said, “The book must have touched a sensitive subject and through these people will know about the suffering of farmer protests.” Hardikar also answered questions from the audience.
He was also talented painting by STD 12 students who were harshly Ujjinkar.
