Kanpur: A video of a boy, who was stripped with his hands behind and struggled for allegedly stealing vegetables, going viral pushed the police to file a shot to a dozen people in the Sachendi area, police said on Monday.
Two people whose identity was established with the help of videos detained on Sundays due to alleged their role, the police supervisor (Kanpur Outer) Ashtbhuja P Singh.
Interrogation is being carried out to ensure their role, said Singh, added that the people who were arrested would be sent to prison if their role was established in a crime.
Singh said that a video became a virus where a boy was allegedly stripped, his hand was tied with a rope from behind and was brutally defined for stealing a small number of vegetables three days ago.
Taking Awareness Suo-Motu, Police Post Chakarpur responsible for Ashok Kumar has registered firs with Sachendi police against a dozen people under the IPC section.
The identity of the boy has not been established so far, police said.
