Coimbatore: City Corporation installs a giant LED screen along the route running on the race line to display messages of public interest.
The Civic body plans to install six screens, 150cm high and 100cm wide, in two places.
The six-screen installation has been completed and testing is underway.
Covid-19 awareness messages are now being displayed.
“Information that will be submitted to the public will be displayed on the screen.
They will also be used to create awareness.
Direct updates for air quality in the area and weather information will also be displayed,” said a corporate official.
“This is an effort to involve more than 1,500 people visiting the place a day for recreational and fitness purposes.” 12 Other screens will be installed on the running track, the official said with the wing of the corporate technique.
“People can walk on it.
The track runs around 2.6 km.
The screen will be installed 215 meters apart so that pedestrians can calculate the distance they cover.
The screen will display distance and time.

The Civic body took the road model project on last year’s race line with a cost of Rs 40.7 Crore to modify it according to pedestrian movements and improve visitor facilities.
Male gym improvement, establishing a gym for women and conversion of children’s park into amphitheater is part of the project.
