Thiruvananthapuram: The promise of battery exchange policies for electric vehicles can provide Fillip to Kerala Clean Energy Initiative in the transportation sector.
Kerala is one of the first states in the country that comes with a vehicle draft on electric vehicles in 2018, and takes the initiative to establish a state network of EV charging.
“Considering space constraints in urban areas to regulate charging stations on a scale, battery exchange policies will be brought out and the standard of inter-operability will be formulated.
The private sector will be encouraged to develop a sustainable and innovative business model for ‘batteries or energy as a service’.
This will increase efficiency in EV ecosystems, “UNI finance minister said in its budget speech.
If the part of the technology has been resolved, the idea of exchanging batteries can give push to EV proliferation.
It can also help KSEB and other institutions working on EV charging station projects.
“One of the main obstacles to the realization of battery exchange ideas is the absence of effective and standard technologies for the same thing.
After the problem is intended, it will be beneficial to the public and agents such as KSEB,” said the former Chair and Managing Director N S Pillai.
The problem of the big difference in power demand in Kerala during rush and dead hours can be intended to extend the big if the battery exchange becomes a reality.
