Chennai: a special team consisting of personnel from prison and the police department conducted a surprise examination in all central prisons in Tamil Nadu on Friday.
This exercise aims to examine smuggling of contraband goods and electronic gadgets to prison by inmates in comfort with the prison department personnel.
Special team launched a surprise check around 6 in the morning.
As many as 100 prison prisons from the central coimbatore center, 40 police personnel from Coimbatore City Police and bomb detection and squad conducted by search from 6am to 7 in the morning.
A sniffer dog is also pressed into the service to detect contraband goods.
Police and prison officials stated that they did not find contraband goods.
Can be pulled back the special team has seized cell phones, SIM cards, tablets and other electronic gadgets and antup items such as marijuana during such exercises before.
The department also suspended the guards to help inmate to smuggle.
