Ahmedabad: In the midst of concern over the Omicron variant of Covid-19, Tuesday witnessed a sharp increase in everyday cases in the city of Gujarat and Ahmedabad.
Gujarat recorded 61 and Ahmedabad 25 new cases with city accounting for 41% of the total cases.
It is the highest everyday case for the state and city in the last five months.
Other new cases include 7 from the city of Letter, 6 from the city of Bhavnagar, 5 of the city of Vadodara, 4 of Valsad, 3 of the city of Jamnagar, each from Kheda and Navsari, and 1 of each of Ahmedabad, Anand, Gandhinagar, Junagadh, Kutch, Rajkot District and Vadodara.
City corporation accounts for 46 or 75% of everyday cases.
Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated by 3.82 lakh people, with a total of 8.35 crores.
Of the 372 active patients – the highest since June 21 – nine are in the ventilator.
