Aai approved the privatization of 13 airports again

New Delhi: The day after the government announced the plan to monetize ambitious assets, the Indian Airport Authority (AAA) on Thursday approved the privatization of 13 airports again next year – six of the main and seven smaller ones to be beaten with a larger one.
Six large airports are: Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar, Indore, Raipur, Trichy and Varanasi.
Seven smaller, which will be beaten with a big one, is those in Hubli, Tirupati, Aurangabad, Jabalpur, Kangra, Kushinagar and style.
The government estimates private investment around Rs 3,700 Crore at the airport in March 2024.
The source said Clubbing would be like this: Varanasi with Kushinagar and style; Amritsar with Kangra; Bhubaneswar with Tirupati; Raipur with Aurangabad; Indore with Jabalpur and Trichy with Hubli.
AAI will now begin the process of preparing the bid document so that the same thing can occur and the process is completed next year.
The Buddhist circuit from Varansi-Kushinagar-style tends to get a significant interest in the bidder because the tourism potential of these cities, regardless of Varanasi is a big goal in itself.
This is the first time the smaller airport is being beaten with a larger one while choosing PPP mode where in the share of income share is a private player developing and expanding the airport while their ownership remains with the government.
Airpot is being developed and running PPP so far included in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Mangaluru.
The Adani Group will immediately take over Jaipur Airport, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram and also build Navi Mumbai Airport.
All airports are privatized with Mandiry Pangkalan.
The Mumbai airport promoter gets the right to build Navi Mumbai airport.
