Guwahati: All Assam Minorities Student Union (Aamsu) held a sit-in in Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday, demanding the rehabilitation of the Dholpur family expelled at Darrang Assam Regency.
The two-hour protest was contrary to the alleged “selective”, “arbitrary” and “inhumane” conducted by the Assam government in various countries.
“Such evictions have given thousands of Indians who lost their residence, forcing them to live the nomadic life of wild animals in this pandemic situation.
Acts of state government without proper rehabilitation of its citizens have violated the human rights of their citizens and more specifically.
Women And the rights of the Bulus child, “said Advisor Aamsu Ainuddin Ahmed and President Rejaul Karim Sarkar in a statement.
In a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Aamsu said the families were evicted in Darrang facing lack of food, drinking water, medicines and shelter.
“Two children from families who were evicted in Garukhuti (Darrang) were reported to have died of seasonal cold,” said the statement.
They make that the “cruelty” of the Assam’s minority community with the excess of the eviction must be stopped and those affected must be rehabilitated by providing land and other basic facilities without further delay.
Aamsu is increasingly demanding that the current NRC preparation process must be restarted.
“People who excluded 19 lakh from the final NRC must be given the opportunity to appeal against their exceptions according to the rules,” said Ainuddin.
The student’s body alleged that it was a matter of worries that a large number of people had not been given aadhaar cards in Assam with one pretext or others so that they seized them from various benefits.
