Chandigarh: Opposition Leader (LOP) in Punjab Assembly and AAM AADMI Party (AAP) Harp Singh Cheema accused a new minister who was appointed by Chararjit Singh Channi gave a sand mafia in the state.
In a statement, Cheema said that contrary to expectations, Channi had begun to mislead the state and people in ‘Modi Style’.

Cheema said without a solid mining policy and strong political will, sand root and gravel mafia that had occurred in Punjab for 20 years could not be eradicated.
“How will the sand mafia be eradicated if landowners are allowed to extract sand from their land and sell it? In the remaining 4-5 months, the sand mafia will continue to do illegal mining with the guise of landowners,” he said.
The AAP leader said that as long as the Punjab government did not form a sand-gravel mining company according to the aam aadmi party manifesto, the sand mafia could not be eradicated and looting from Punjab’s Feacher and people could not be stopped.
“Therefore, instead of taking misleading steps, the Channi government must immediately revoke the previous mining policy and formulate and implement new and concrete mining policies immediately,” Cheema said.
Meanwhile, in connection with the announcement carried out by the Congress Government regarding employees as fraud, Cheema said the wealth allowance that applies to government employees from January 2016 was 125%, but the announcement was made of 113%.
