NEW DELHI: The AAP on Tuesday asserted that textbooks have yet to be given to seven lakh students in the BJP-led municipal company universities, a bill described from the Delhi BJP as a”group of lies”.
Addressing a media conference, AAP pioneer Durgesh Pathak alleged the BJP-ruled MCD hasn’t yet begun the tendering procedure or started the procurement of publications for all these pupils.
“two lakh students were also deprived of novels at the BJP-led MCD schools due to no supply,” Pathak maintained.

He declared that at 2020, the BJP-ruled MCD supplied books to their pupils after fourteen months of delay and also there has been a delay of eight weeks in 2019 too.
“The Aam Aadmi Party requires the BJP-ruled MCD promptly, in 15-20 days, begin the tendering, procuring and supply procedure for these novels for its seven lakh pupils,” Pathak said.
“The BJP needs to quit playing the future of those students throughout the right time of a pandemic,” the AAP chief stated.
Responding to the, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor explained the allegations levelled by the AAP as a”cluster of lies”.
“Pathak ought to be aware that MCDs never carry a tender for procuring textbooks, the publications are procured and supplied to MCDs from the Delhi administration’s Delhi Bureau of Faculties that has not delivered novels until recently,” he explained.
Kapoor said the funds for textbooks comes in the Delhi administration’s Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan that came a week following a delay of 46 days.
“It is going to be better when Pathak inquires the Delhi authorities why it gave Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Fund following a delay 46 times and its Delhi Bureau of Faculties hasn’t supplied novels to MCDs till recently,” the spokesperson said.
“Before levelling baseless allegations on MCDs, he must tell why Faculties have yet to be dispersed in Delhi government colleges until recently,” he further added.
